At Barnabee’s we like to encourage story time within the day, this develops our children’s listening and attention, speech and language as they listen to new words.

It all helps our children to grow with the enjoyment of a book and an enriched experience with all the family.

Books are becoming quite expensive and another reason, where do you put them all at home as they grow their collection, their pile of books grow but the house does not : )

We ask our parents if they have any story books at home that their children do not want anymore,  either through age or loss of interest and donate them to us.

We can then have what we call a story book swop shop, all our children will have a new book each week or daily to take home. When they have read it with their family and also looked through independently themselves and their loss of interest comes along, they can bring it back and swop it for a new one. Helps to save your bank balance and also generates recycling.

With the ever growing technology of phones and iPad’s we want to make sure our children still enjoy books.

If anyone would like to donate any book’s please let us know : )
